  Believe in Yourself

This book shows kids that you must believe in yourself. Horton goes against what others tell him because he hears a Who on a speck. He saves to population of Who's and becomes a hero. An example to relate to children works better than a parent telling them and Horton makes a great example for a trust your feelings lesson. Perfect for positive parenting! Additionally, Jim Carey is set to do this movie.

  Horton Hears a Who!
Review created: 05/06/09

Horton Hears a Who! is a beloved children's classic written by one of the most revered children's authors of all time. The gentle yet entertaining story features an elephant named Horton who believes an entire world resides on a speck of dust. Horton must convince the other members of the jungle to believe him before it's too late. A touching story reminding us all of the value of human life. For, "a person's a person, no matter how small."

The 2008 movie of the same name is a wonderful companion to the book.

I bought this book for my grandson. I had already purchased a Horton stuffed animal and the DVD but wanted him to have a book to be able to look at and learn to read with. This book was a great price and also in excellent condition. He was very excited with the book.

I bought this book because they were selling Dr. Seuss stuffed animals at Kohl's and my daughter and two nephews had all four of the characters. Horton was one of the characters so I wanted to book to go along with him. Well the book is great. It's a very cute book and the kids love it. Great read!! I recommend it to anyone with toddler aged kids and older. :)

Horton Hears a Who - EXCELLENT!

Excellent children's book. A rather long read but I've found kids prefer it once they can comprehend it. Not good for a very young child unless they have some level of patience. Dr. Seuss at his best yet again.

Horton Hears a Who! by Dr. Seuss

My kids love this book, the movie follows it fairly closely. I must say that the movie is excellent. And the book as most of Dr. Seuss' books has a very important message about self worth and self esteem. I recommend this book for parents and kids alike.

Horton Hears a Who... Excellent Suess Classic!
Review created: 03/25/08

Horton Hears a Who is wonderful story about accepting and loving people for who they are, no matter what. Horton, is confident that he hears something on the speck, but everyone makes fun of him for this. At the end, Horton does not hold any grudges, he accepts the Kangaroo for who she is, and all is well in the jungle and in Whoville! Excellent moral lesson for kids and adults alike!

I needed this book for a childrens literature course. Buying books on half.com just makes sense. Why would I pay 16.99 for a book when I can get it for less than $2.00?

  Great Title

I bought this book, because I remember reading it in the school library when I was a young girl, and then reading it to my children. Now that I have grandchildren, I wanted to enlarge my collection of Dr.Seuss books, and this one was an important one to get, since the old one was in bad shape. This book teaches children a good lesson...to stand up for those that can't stand up for themselves...no matter the cost......(or how small they are).

  Horton Hears a Who

I like the simple, clever writing of Dr. Seuss. The book is great for children, but contains principles that anyone should learn from, like protecting the helpless. I decided to buy it because I wanted to read it before the Jim Carrey movie by the same name comes out. I have read it to all of my children and they asked me to read it over again. I know Dr. Seuss probably didn't intend this extrapolation, but the book seems to encourage us to re-examine our culture of ignoring 'the least' in our society.
