Publisher's Note
Mourning his ended affair from The Old Contemptibles, Scotland Yard superintendent Richard Jury finds himself in Baltimore with his friend Melrose Plant.       JURY RIDES AGAIN

Martha Grimes unbends slightly and allows one of her Richard Jury novels to travel beyond her normal London base, to Baltimore. Jury is looking into the death of the nephew of a friend, recurring character Lady Cray, and Plant comes along to visit a friend. Richard Jury and his friends will entertain and delight you during their journey, with a great storyline and engrossing mystery. Grimes has a wonderfully engaging writing style with unforgettable, endearing characters that you will enjoy in this and all of her other Richard Jury novels. The mystery (and the inevitable pubs that make up the titles of all of her novels) is the setting, but it's Grimes' characters and their relationships that are always the draw in her novels. This particular book was also longer than average, a blessing when a book is so good you don't want it to end.
