Good step-by-step guide to horse keeping
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.
The text and many photos in this book are a good guide on how to do many of the everyday caretaking tasks involved in keeping a horse. From equipment and it's proper adjustment to safe handling techniques in various situations on the ground, to grooming, bathing, braiding and clipping, Cherry Hill has provided a book that will benefit new horse owners and others who may not have done these tasks before. I especially appreciate the safety issues she covers on how the handler should put the halter on, how to go through a gate with the horse, how to safely turn the horse loose and how to position yourself by the horse when working with it. I recommend this book and the other photo step-by-step books in Cherry Hill's series for their common sense and easy to follow approach to working safely around horses.
