This is an exellent book on early hunting in Africa, just haveing come back from my first trip to Africa, I can appreciate it even more.

) If you are a hunter, or know someone who is, this is a must read and any real hunter will love it as a gift. Ruark is a master story teller, and this book is about his first safari to Africa. Not only are there thrilling game stories and hunting stories, but the author also throws in some great philosophy about why some people hunt and some don't. ("Some hear the horn early and some not at all..."}. His professional hunter is Harry Selby(a real person, not a fictional character) and he teaches Ruark alot about hunting, life and Africa.
