Hop on Pop by Dr. Seuss (2004, Hardcover, Board)

This Dr. Seuss book is a great one for the youngest of toddlers. Like other Seuss books, it has a rhyme scheme and a theme (hopping on dad), but it is short in length and holds the attention of little ones. They also love the silly idea behind the book, and it is easy for them to understand the idea of jumping on dad. Believe it or not, sometimes super-silly books like Green Eggs and Ham are a little over their heads. This one is easily understood and enjoyed by tots, and it also comes in a terrific mini board book edition.

This was my oldest son favorite book as a child. He and I spent many happy times reading and "hopping on pop". I bought this book for my grandson. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading to their children.

I loved to read Hop on Pop to my children when they were small, so when I need a gift for a child, I think of this book. I like buying books on e-bay because I can usually get a good price on them. I strongly recommend checking e-bay first to save some serious cash!

This little book is an abridged version of the original and teaches rhyming words to very little people. My 16 month old Granddaughter really liked it and wanted a repeat reading. She named items pictured in the book, and could turn the thick pages. The small size will be great to take on short trips for entertainment.
