Hoover UH70015 Upright Cleaner

Pros: The unit is all but assembled straight out of the carton. Only needed to attach the handle with two sheet-metal looking screws. This thing really sucks too! I previously had a Kenmore (top rated by CR) and this Hoover just runs circles around the Kenmore.

I was hesitant in the beginning about the "bagless" feature until I saw a short video on how easy it is to empty. No dust flying in your face, etc. It's nice and easy.

Cons: The two screws for the handle are really difficult to tighten. Don't give up, they'll fit, but, might need an electric drill with some torque.

I have owned a dyson for a year now and tried my sisters hoover platinum. Now i'm a proud owner of a hoover.

I did tons of research to decide on a hoover or dyson, since those are two of the best vacuums. Many people recommended dyson but when I looked at this new platinum from hoover, I had to see which was best. At the time I was going on the physical appearance-it was more attractive than dysons. But I had to ensure that it helped with my problem. The problem I was facing was that I had a new home with new carpet and it constantly sheds to the point of just simply walking creating balls of loose carpet fur. I was told to get a good shampoo and a commercial vac by the carpet installer and that it was normal until a few good vacuum cleanings. Well I messed up two vacuums-eureka and bissell(one of which was new). The carpet sheddings kept getting stuck and the vacuum jammed, so I knew I had to get something that could stand the shedding until it stopped. Well this hoover is doing the job. Shedding is very minimal and almost stopped just after 1 vacuum cleaing, and it is not jammed with carpet. Ao I'm sure it will be done shedding once I clean 1 more time. I love this vacuum because there's a red and green light that comes on to let you know when a particular area is clean or needs more vacuum strokes. There's also a dial that shows the current month and the month when you need to clean the filters. This way you don't forget. The power is started by the touch of a button, along with the bare floor, low, and high levels-all run by the touch of a button. So very futuristic. I love this vacuum and would definitely recommend it. The only thing I don't like in comparison to dyson is that the hoover doesn't have the long telescopic wand attachment. It has attachments, but not one that will reach to clean blinds, stairs, etc. However, that is all the dyson has over hoover. So that one thing makes hoover beat dyson, hands down. The best part is that there is a 6 year warranty-beat that dyson:)

Pros: Gets the deep-down dirt; makes carpet nice and fluffy; easy to use; quiet; hand tools work fantastic for dusting household items such as blinds; picks up pet hair and fine particle dirt with ease. Works well as a floor vacuum, too (although I still have to use the crevice tool to get the areas against the wall).

Cons: Vacuum is heavy; wish more hand tools came with package like the "mini" vacuum attachment and an extender pipe; have to push the power button hard to turn on.

I rated this item good instead of excellent only because I felt more hand tools should come standard. Otherwise this vacuum is a great cleaning system.

This vacuum is light weight, has attractive styling, easy to operate and has great suction power. Definitely the best vacuum I've ever owned. Because of the cyclonic action, you don't get a dust ploom when you empty it like you do with other bagless vacuums. The "clean" and "dirty" lights are awesome in high traffic areas. It's nice to know that my carpet is actually clean, instead of just looking clean. My carpet feels softer after using the Platinum! I would highly recommend this vacuum!

I bought 3 weeks ago and was immediatley impressed. It was top of line vaccuum. I needed it as I moved to new place.I have no complaints.

The vacuum does it's primary job quite well. The carpets are clean every time! I also really like the electronic height adjustment on the handle. That's a very nice feature. If you're petite and need something light, look elsewhere. The vacuum is heavy and kind of bulky. My only major complaint about the vacuum is the electrical odor that the motor emits. I've heard that is a problem with most 12 amp vacuums made in China or Mexico. If Hoover would get rid of the odor, I would have rated the vacuum as "good."

I own several vacuums due to the three floors I have to clean. I had purchased one of these for my daughter in Phoenix and she just loves it. That was enough recommendation for me. This new Hoover design is terrific. It is probably the favorite of all of my vacuums. It cleans every bit as good as my Dyson. Versatility is top notch and it has great edge-cleaning power.

I've been a Windtunnel user for many years now. I've compared it to Dyson and Oreck, and Hoover has picked up more than both. I have been waiting for Hoover to introduce a Windtunnel that did not lose suction. The Platinum bagless upright surprisingly picked up a decent amount of fine dirt that my previous Windtunnel left behind. You can feel the power from this vacuum and it does not lose suction. The electronic height adjustment is a very high-end feature that I am excited to have. It makes it very easy to go from room to room and to and from area rugs and bare floors. The brush roll shuts the vacuum down if something is lodged in its path - a nice new feature. The bin is easy to empty, but tricky to close. Too bad a self-propelled model is not available, but it is not very difficult to push. It is a phenomenal vacuum for cleaning carpets and bare floors. However, above floor cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Although the wand/hose is very accessible, the hose is very short and a hose extension is not available. The brush/upholstery tool is very small – it looks like something on a $50 vacuum. Hoover did not include a powered hand tool or additional extension wands, like on their previous machines. I don’t know why Hoover would include less attachments on their new top-of-the-line machine. Aside from the hose and attachments, it is an outstanding machine.
