Hoover U6485900 Upright Cleaner

The item was listed as new. It wasn't.
They first vacuum sent was the wrong one. I complained the seller promply brought/ delivered the correct vacuume. After looking it over it had been used. I would guess maybe it was a demo.

I love having the lights tell you when the floor is clean or when it is still dirty. In addition, when the bag is full. Although the vacuum is heavy it is well worth it to have the self propel mechanism. The only thing I don't like about it is the extension piece is too short. I will need to look into buying an addition for it. I decided to buy it for a more powerful vacuum than my 13+ year old vacuum. Also, I went by consumer reports as the best vacuum on the market.

I decided on the Hoover after reviewing Consumer Reports. Out of top performing cleaners, this was the best value. It's a great product, cleans well and easy to use.

We had an old windtunnel vacuum circa 1998. It weighed a ton and needed a lot of repairs over the years. My wife hated it and preferred using our back-up vac - an Oreck. THIS MACHINE is a PLEASURE to use. Light and thorough in action. (Even my wife likes it!) We bought it because of E-Bay VALUE! What is offered at full retail these days is beyond the reach of most people. THIS purchase was a value! It has a FULL 3 YEAR MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY for parts AND LABOR! (Try finding THAT anywhere else!) We feel good about our purchase - The Hoover Company was bought by a competitor a couple of years ago - they made it BETTER than the original! I researched vacuums on line for days trying to find one to replace my daughter-in-laws old vaccum befor her new baby arrived. I kept reading good reviews of this model. I ordered this from e-bay and had it delivered directly to my son and daughter-in-laws home. They were thrilled to receive it. However, after using it, they were ecstatic. They raved about this vacuum and now, a few weeks later, they love it even more. I'm really glad I pordered this model as a gift for them.

The vacuum is very good. I compared store prices, and this was very comparable in pricing. Lightweight, good brush and attachments. We needed a new vacuum and this purchase has been very worthwhile.
We also have a Kirby vacuum but it is too heavy. This Hoover is more self-propelled then the Hoover. Don't be sucked into an expensive vacuum.

The Hoover Wind Tunnel Vacuum is an outstanding product. I have all-tile floors with a few throw rugs and its versatility is excellent for this use. It also works very well for cleaning mini-blinds, and around hard to reach areas including ceiling vents, ceiling lighting grills, behind furniture, etc. As I have 3 long-haired dogs and live in a very dusty part of the states, this is an important factor. The attachment for tools is much improved over the older models and, thus, easier to use; the suction for these parts is really great even with both extension wands. I highly recommend this product!

Excellent rating from a experienced user that's likes power assist. purchased a windtunnel U6446900 on the internet for $270 April 2002. Just got tired fixing; it and the thing was heavy, eats belts and not easy to work on or vacuum rugs, especially throw rugs. the new U6485900 purchased for $208 April 2009 is slightly smaller, definitely lighter, possible slightly less cleaning power but it is a dream to use. Oh yes, there is more light weight plastic and it may not last as long and it has the same belts that may be a problem for women (belts are difficult to replace,) but to me it is splended improvement over my previous (arkward, heavy, good cleaner) with considerable easier handling and user frendly features. You must read instructions and do not drag around by the power assist handle.
