This has got to be the most powerful vacuum I've ever owned. In that respect it is great! It doesn't do well on bare floors and just kinda throws the dirt around more than suck it up. The power cord is too short. Definitely spend the extra money for the extension hose, you're going to need it even for just everyday use and I don't even have stairs.

It is also rather annoying that you have to turn off the machine, pull out the hose, close the cover, and then put the wand on. My Eureka was so much easier in that respect, you just pulled out the hose as you were vacuuming and the wand was already attached, and it just switched from floor to hose automatically. But this one picks up so much more dirt that it's worth it. Just be careful. I've already accidentally vacuumed up a few things that I didn't mean too just because I got a little too close.
