Hoover U5140-900 Tempo WidePath Upright Cleaner

This has got to be the most powerful vacuum I've ever owned. In that respect it is great! It doesn't do well on bare floors and just kinda throws the dirt around more than suck it up. The power cord is too short. Definitely spend the extra money for the extension hose, you're going to need it even for just everyday use and I don't even have stairs.

It is also rather annoying that you have to turn off the machine, pull out the hose, close the cover, and then put the wand on. My Eureka was so much easier in that respect, you just pulled out the hose as you were vacuuming and the wand was already attached, and it just switched from floor to hose automatically. But this one picks up so much more dirt that it's worth it. Just be careful. I've already accidentally vacuumed up a few things that I didn't mean too just because I got a little too close.

This vacuum is lightweight, was just what we were looking for. We own a small commercial cleaning business, cleaning office space. The on board tool attachments are so convenient. Although it does not do to well on hard surface floors, the adjustable height is a nice feature for carpeted areas. This vacuum is VERY powerful for its size, we are very pleased with the performance.

The vacuumn is relatively cheap but works better than a dirt devel I paid twice as much for. It was top rated by Consumers Reports

I bought it as a gift as a recommendation of a consumer report rating. Also it was cheaper on line than in the store locally.

Name brand, good price and reasonable shipping. Has a wide vacuuming path and does a good job. It is light and easy to change vacuum bag. Bags are easy to get as well.

This Hoover vacuum has better suction power than vacuums costing four times as much. A very powerful 12 amp motor gets the job done. Drawbacks? My only complaint would be the quality of the accessory hose, which is too thin walled for the amount of power in the vacuum. If your not careful, you can easily make the hose collapse in on itself. Also the suction is so great that even though it is an expandable hose, you have to work against the force of the vacuums suction. But it will pick up just about anything! All in all, you can't beat this vacuum for the price. Absolutely best in it's class.

It is really easy to assemble and works great. Pet hair and bare floors are my enemies and this helped me conquer them all.

The Hoover Tempo vaccuum is a great vaccuum for the price. I have 4 cats and a big dog, and tons of pet hair to clean up. I tried the Dirt Devil Purpose for Pets vaccuum and it was a disaster. It completely stopped working within one week. Then I bought the Hoover Tempo after reading several positive online reviews. It was half the price of the Dirt Devil, and it works great. It's easy to push, gets all the pet hair, and I'm really pleased. Thank you!

I've been having a hard time getting the carpet in my bedroom as clean as I would like because I have two dogs. After using three more expensive vacumms I bought this won. I fell in love the first time I used it. It picks up everything and I would very highly recomend it.

We just bought a Tempo Wide path and we love it,the performance is outstanding it removes the dirt deep down and requires very little effort to use.if you are looking for a vacume that does a very good job on removing dirt from your from yuor carpet and is priced right you will like it just as much as we do.

Good performance for not much money. Good suction. What else can anyone want from a vacuum? Why pay more? This unit would be better if it had a longer hose attachment.

$140 bagless fancy vac we bought last year.
Its simple and not fancy but does the job just great.

Are there better vacuums? Sure, but at many hundreds of dollars more. For the money, this can't be beat. Bought it because it was highly ranked in Consumer reports. Wasn't disappointed.

This vacuum was well packaged, easy to set up and its design is very efficient. It's a good value for the money. I like the fact that it captures the dirt in a disposable bag rather than a cartridge type filter.

I brought this Vacuum from the reviews. All I can say is that I will be
junking my Kenmore, which I always had to pick up lint etc after I vacuum.

This is a great vacuum. I have always bought Hoover vacuums, but this is the most powerful one I've ever found and yet it's the least expensive. There are no frills with this machine, but they are not missed. The suction makes my carpets look brand new. Great vacuum!!!

This is my second Tempo Wide Path vac I own(one for upstairs and one downstairs). I have a central vac system but I prefer my Wide Path because it does a wonderful job. We have 2 golden retrievers weighing... (well, I am not going to discuss their weight, it is rude) but lets just say they are healthy. The Wide Path gets all the dog hair and then some. Superior vac with FREE shipping. My son bought one for his home, too.

I love my vacuum...it definitely gets the job done and is powerful for it's light weight. The power cord is pretty short, but I don't mind having to re-plug it in for each room. I wish it would suck up dirt better on hard floors, but does an amazing job on carpet! I would recommend :)

My fiance and I needed a new upright vacuum cleaner as our old one of 12 years finally quit. We have a consumers buying guide pocket book so we checked to see which one might be suited for us. After reviewing all of them we came to a decision and picked the Hoover Tempo. It was inexpensive and rated in the top 8 out of 58 uprights. It is a little loud but thats the only drawback. It's suction is powerful and manuverability is good. One of the main reasons we chose it is that it is the paper bag version and that it states for that reason there is much less dust particals leaked. My fiance has alergies and we feel in the long run it will work out the best for us. Hope this reveiew helps. Regards

I choose Hoover because the name has beena round many many years....
Also checked the reviews on this vacuum before purchasing...its a great product for the money...The cord could be longer ....but that is minor compared to the performance...
