I love how it works when it is working correctly. I have a friend who bought one and I loved her so much I got one. I have R-Arthritis and mopping is horrible for me. This made cleaning the floors a breeze and the drying time is cut by at least 2/3's. It is also much quicker and required no rinsing.

The 1st problem was the floor cleaner that came with both of ours was by lysol and worked really great, but after buying one replacement it couldn't be found anywhere by either of us. It also came with a seperate hard wood cleaner. Well, now the only available product is produced by Hoover and is a one for all. It doesn't do nearly as good a job. A lot of the time I use nothing but water with a little vinegar in it.

The other problem is that my friends quit shutting off the cleaning brushes during the drying cycle. It seems to work at first, but when it gets a little warm the switch doesn't work properly. She had not had it but a few months. Mine has a problem with the cleaner container. It doesn't sit in tight enough to push down the release button to allow the water to flow when I pull the trigger. I have to tie twine around it or try to hold it with one hand while cleaning with the other. The cleaner container seems to fit in tight and the amount of play is minute, but just enough that contact isn't made securely. I've looked at it and am trying to figure a way to correct this problem, but as to date haven't. I live on a fixed income and this was really an extra for me and I cannot replace it.

It's a shame they haven't made this product a little sturdier because when working properly is a geat item. The price would have you expect a more dependable product.

We purchased this item for my Mother, who is 74 years old and has a muscular disease, along with arthritis. It is the 4th floor cleaner that I have purchased for her and the ONLY one that she uses. She does not have to bend over to use the product, is able to use it with her hand and back pain, and is able to lift the lightweight machine even with limited strength. She loves the dry vac for every day use and the wet vac for occasional deeper cleaning. Great product!

I wore the first one out! I wouldn't be without one.I use it in my shop and since it dries the floor immediately, there's no danger of a customer slipping on a wet or muddy floor.

  Not for heavy cleaning

I really like the concept, but the machine doesn't clean as well as shown on tv! (What does? LOL!) I have a family of six with a few "neighborhood children" so I use(d) it daily. I have to repeatedly cover areas with spots or get a sponge or something and clean areas. Twice the machine has stopped spraying. It works for light cleaning, but certainly not for anything else! It's really no better than the swiffer wet-jet. I have tried EVERYTHING as I have no carpeting in my home; just couldn't find something that didn't swoosh dirty water back & forth. Stick with a mop & broom & bucket if you have a lot of children! For elderly or those who don't use it for heavy cleaning, it's probably fine.

I have had one for a couple of years now. I love it and can't be with out it. I have ceramic floors in my Kitchen an bathrooms and washing and drying them is a snap. No more buckets and mops for this gal! My handle recently broke and I was able to find the part on line and repaired it myself. I'm looking for one for my son so he quits borrowing mine to clean up after his dog!!

Hoover3000 sweep, mop,& dry all-in-one floor care...I bought this item due to the 8 floods my home endured...i have no carpet or flooring of any kind now...just concrete which needed cleaning...Could not afford one at Walmart so I bought it off eBay & it has been a life saver...It has scrub brushes underneath that lets you clean like you've never cleaned with a mop...then picks up all the mess & your floor is dry & your back isn't broken from bending..you sweep...scrub & mop...and drys your floor in that order...it has a tank for the cleaner...one for the swept stuff...one for the clean water...then one for the dirty water...It is the neatest thing ever...it's supposed to be for hardwood, tile floors but i got it for my cement floors...and so very glad I did...cost 1/4 of what it would have retail...Very, Very Happy with my Purchase...

I love my floormate and have had it for probably 3 years. LOVE IT!! No more messy durty buckets and pushing dirty water around. The floors dry really quick almost instantly. My wood floors are streak free!! Does a great job on tile but I use the grout cleaner on the grout every once in awhile to keep the grout clean. I will never use a mop again!!!

I hate to clean floors. This unit worked good and made the job easier but just didn't cut it when I needed to clean the grout on my tile floor. I resold it on E-bay as the unit worked fine except for the lack of grout brushes. I have since upgraded to a later model and am now totally satisfied.

  Don't Buy
Review created: 11/11/07
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I had a Hoover floor mate that I really liked, even got my daughter to buy one.
When it stopped working I bought the new model 800. The first time I used it, it did not do the job of my first one. I have only used it twice and it will NOT pick up the dirty water. I went through the manual and did everything it said and still nothing. I plan on returning it as it cost me over $200.00. I think Hoover better redesign this machine.

Is this worth the $200.00 you are going to pay for it. Yes every penny! This must have been created by God to clean the heavens. Not only does it do a wonderful job cleaning but it makes your whole house smell great too :) Clean -up takes about 5 - 10 minutes. I have had mine for about 3 years and have had no problems at all. Make sure you use the Hoover or lysol brand cleaner as the generic cleaners dont smell as good or shine as bright.

  Decent Scrubber
Review created: 10/07/09

This isn't a bad scrubber, but it's still a little work. The idea is that you put cleaner in one dispenser and dirty water is sucked up into a container. It can vacuum up both dry and wet. It also has brushes to scrub the floor.

The vacuum dry feature is okay for lightweight things like pet fur. It has more trouble with heavier bits of stuff. It will not replace your regular vacuum. It's good, though, if you use it often enough that the floor isn't filthy (I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 20 ferrets here, so filthy comes quickly) and just need to vacuum up a day or two of fur.

The dispensing of the cleaner works fine, but you can't use anything with a "solvent" in it, or it will ruin the gaskets. I've been using a single drop of dishwashing liquid, and so far, so good.

The scrubbing action isn't bad, but if the floor is really filthy, you need to take off the front part of the unit so it doesn't immediately suck the water up. I scrub up dried-on ferret poop (what's left after I wipe it up at the time) and sometimes it takes a while to get it off. It's definitely easier to stand there and let the brushes scrub than it is to get down on all fours and scrub. It takes a little while, though, since the brushes are pretty gentle. Then you put the front back on and suck up the dirty water. I generally go over it again to "rinse" it (with the same cleaning solution).

The wet vacuum works pretty well. I've seen a fair number of these for sale second-hand, and I think the reason so many people get rid of them is because it doesn't dry the floor so well if you have low spots in your floor. I only have a few (my entire first floor is laminate) and it's not so bad to dry those places, but I could see if you had a very irregular floor that it would leave it too wet in places.

I see two main problems with the scrubber: 1) you have to keep bending over to turn it on and off (where the switch is located) and 2) you have to bend over to put the front on and off. (The uneven floor thing isn't the scrubber's fault.) Even so, it is still easier on the back than the method I was using (all fours or mopping and drying with a towel on the end of a rubber broom).

The main advantage of this scrubber is that you actually *remove* the dirt. For me, actually getting the poop up and rinsed was important. We were having issues with one set of ferrets having the runs and giving it to another set of ferrets, despite mopping the floor. We've had much less transmission of germs across groups of ferrets since we started using the scrubber.

Another advantage is that since it's not so hard, you're more likely to use it more often. It's a little bit of a pain messing with filling and emptying containers, but when I saw what it actually picks up, it didn't seem like quite so much of a pain. If you use it frequently, you probably won't have to take the front off to "deep scrub".

I think a scrubber like this would be helpful for people with crawling children and for people with messy pets. It still is work, but when you're done, the floor is cleaner than with a mop.

Review created: 08/17/09

Mine is an older one that only has a scrub brush head. It works great but doesn't put out as much water as I like. You can buy the solution on line. I have had mine for 3 years the only problems is the small fine rim on the bottom has worn off. You have to clean out the head each time you use it and be sure to wash your waste container as the water will have a really bad oder in one day.

This is an excellent machine. I had owned one previously, liked it so much that when I wore it out, I immediately bought another. It cleans extremely well, vacuums up dry dirt, scrubs the floor, and then vacuums up the excess water. Makes cleaning the floors a breeze. I have 2 dogs who wander in an outside all day long, tracking the floors, but not a problem with this machine!

Hoover Floormate H3000 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum
Review created: 01/01/09

I have been looking for a Hoover Floormate in a price range that I was willing to pay. I had one before I moved and it was completely worn out. I have miles of bare floors and I am somewhat handicapped making the upkeep difficult. I bought one just before I was going into surgery and couldn't wait for it to arrive. It did not arrive until I was out of the hospital but that did not stop me from trying it out on my sandstone floors. Because the rocks are very uneven and the grout it rough and even more uneven, it does not clean as well as I had hoped, but I am still very happy with it. From experience, I know that if I tilt it slightly on either end when scrubbing, it will get into the depressions. The suction for the dirty water does not work as well on the uneven floors but I have found a towel works just fine and is much easier that trying to mop all the rooms and hallways. I know other members of my family have bought the Hoover Floormate on my reccomendation because they saw what a nice and simple job it was to maintain bare floors. If this one wears out, I know I will purchase another one.

The only thing that I am upset about is the shipping price. I feel that the seller put such a high shipping price on the item because it could not be sold at a more expensive price. Now just to let you know it is all my fault that I bought the item I put it in a bid assistant group and really didn't read the description or the shipping price until I was already bidding on the item. So the seller is not responsible for my mistake. I will just need to be more careful next time I bid with the bid assistant and read all of the descriptions prior to adding them to a group.
