Hoover F7452-900 SteamVac Upright Cleaner

I needed a machine that would do it all. It does a great job and takes a dirty floor- tile and wood, it smells wonderful and is clean. I have a lot of floors to do and was dreading the cleaning part. This makes it much easier along with great service and quick delivery. Great deal.

I purchased my Hoover Steam Vac V2 (Model F7425-900) way back in August of 2003 and have used it dozens of times since then to clean my carpets.

On Friday, May 1, 2009, the brushes stopped spinning. That’s the only trouble I have had with this device in the six years I owned it.

I have tried numerous shampoos by various manufacturers, including Hoover’s, and so far the one I like the best is Bio-Enzyme Carpet Stain Remover & Odor Eliminator. (No, I am not affiliated with them or know anyone that does in any way.)

I usually shampoo my carpet once and let it dry overnight. Then, the next day, I go over it again but using only water with the rinse feature to get out any excess soap or any deep-down dirt that may tend to wick back up to the surface.

The "dripping" people complain about is probably from filling the tank. When it overflows at the top, they probably didn't wipe the excess water that ran over the sides of the tank as they carried it back to the unit. It's unfair to blame the tank for this fault.

Depending on the humidity level, if you only go over your carpet only once, it will dry pretty quickly; in fact, in a couple of hours. If you do have to go over the carpet a second time, try turning off the brushes when you rinse. I have learned that doing so significantly increases the suction power, which slurps up more water and helps speed up the drying process.

If I have to shampoo my carpets during the rainy season or when the humidity level is high, I simply turn on my portable dehumidifier to run all night, and the carpet is dry the next day.

The shampooer itself stores easily in a closet just as a vacuum cleaner does, and I place it on (actually in) one of those aluminum 13"x18" cookie sheets you may buy at Sam’s Club or Smart & Final (it fits perfectly in it). Then I don’t have to worry about any extraneous dripping damaging the floor.

I certainly would recommend this model carpet shampooer to other potential users. (And I don't work for Hoover, Sam's Club, or Smart & Final.)

I recently purchased the Hoover F7452-900 Steam Vac. I liked the fact that it was very easy to assemble. You will need a screwdriver for the two screws provided that go on the handle. The two tanks for clean water and separate compartment for hard floor cleaning product and dirty water tank were lightweight. I chose not to follow the instructions for keeping the attachments on the Steam Vac. I chose not to use the optional wall mount for attachments.

I replaced the carpet attachment (green brushes) with the hard floor cleaner attachment. (white brushes) I filled the water tank with a gallon of hot water and used about 1/3 of the Hoover cleaner. Next, I turned the setting (bottom left) on the Vac to hard floor cleaner, plugged it in, turned the setting (top of the handle) to wash auto rinse, turned it to on (also top of handle) and began cleaning. Be prepared it is noisy.

You will need to work small areas at a time. You press the trigger on the handle to dispense soap and water. Let go of the trigger to suck up the dirty water. You need to go back and forth several times to pick up dirty water. I was amazed to see the dirty water going into the dirty water canister.
As you go over the floor, make sure you empty the dirty water canister before it gets too full or it will not pick up the water as well.

I am very happy with this product and my clean floors. This is my first experience with this type of machine. I have always used a bucket, rags and mop. One thing, do not expect miracles on very dirty grout. You will still need to pre treat stained grout. You will also need to sweep or vacuum the floor ahead of time because it is not a vacuum cleaner.

I put the mop and rags away for good and am very satisfied with this product.

It is as advertised, light weight - compared to older model, cleans well, cheaper buying on eBay, generally fast shipping on all items.

This Hoover F7452-900 SteamVac Upright Vacuum was deliver quick, great price and No damage. I would buy from this seller (tri-state1) again in the future. We started using the SteamVac the day we received it. It does the job we expected.
