One of Elton John's finest albums
Elton John was on a roll. He produced some of his most enduring work from 1970 through 1975 (arguably "Blue Moves" could be included as well from 1977)and "Honkey Chateau" had one of his biggest early hits "Rocket Man" and some of the finest songwriting of his career.
The Mo-Fi is the best version (outside of the DJM original CD release)sound wise out there. My only complaint is that I do wish that Mo-Fi had adopted replicas of the original album artwork earlier--"Honkey Chateau" had a unique gatefold cover that had a flap that closed the album on the back. That's missed here.
Still, the sound is really what matters and this is one of the finest versions of the album out there. While the original CD issue sounds good as well, Mo-Fi created a CD that closely resembles the original mastertapes in sound, depth and warmth.
