It does make noise, but works better than the ionic ones. You see the ionic ones actually don't catch everything the first time they pass through and they don't really move the air. This filter really moves it. My only complaint is that it is not noise free. It does have different settings, so I usually put it on low so I can sleep with it on. It removes almost all the alergens in the air. Lovely little device.

I use this HEPA machine in my bedroom 24/7. It's helped dramatically with my many allergies (I just found out the allergies are causing my asthma that I've had for 9 months).
The only gripe I have with this machine is that it states that it's "Quietcare". On high, this thing is pretty loud!
However, I had a more inexpensive model (I think it was Honeywell 50010) and it was deafening, so this is an improvement.
Otherwise, this machine is giving me EXCELLENT results. I can sleep through the night without my eyes watering or dry mouth. It's improved my breathing (my family tells me 'I sound better') and helped with my snoring problems. At the price they're selling it for here, I'd pick one up. If noise bothers you just keep it on the low setting.
It really is a good product!

) Never got product I won and bid on. Aug 23 I won and paid for item. It is now Sept 14,2009 and still no product. I have called seller and emailed and had no response. Buyer beware!! On top of it all he is not a registered Ebay seller anymore. I have disbuted his charge with ebay paypal and my creditcard company. Do not trust this person! very poor rating

Its actually not that loud.I like the ease of changing the pre-filter. Does trap dust but wish it would vacumn up a lot more, but still satisfied.
