Home Food Dehydrating by Jay & Shirley Bills (1974)
If you want recipes for using dehydrated foods, this is the book to get. If you want serious information on doing the dehydration of the foods, I believe there are probably better books out there, This book does not go into enough real information on dehydration, such as how thin to slice the vegetables or fruits, and how about the wild fruits and veggies? And the book does not give much information at all about dehydrating meats, be it wild game, or domestic meats, or even fish. One could ask "So how hard can it be to dehydrate foods?" to which I would reply, if it was easy, people would not be buying a book on how to do it. This book wold be good for a person who just wants to try dehydrating foods, but not really for the person who is interesting in seriously putting food away.
