This book breaks home buying down to the basics...better than any book I've read in the past.If you are buying a home, then you need to have and read this book first.

I THINK ALL THE "FOR DUMMIES" BOOKS ARE PRETTY WELL DONE. THEY USE HUMOR TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR BEGINNERS I THINK. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS AWHILE BUT I ALSO READ SOME TIPS AND IDEAS I HADN'T THOUGHT OF OR HAD THOUGHT OF IN A DIFFERENT WAY. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD IDEAS. THIS BOOK HAS SOME.

Home Buying for dummies, not only tells you how to buy a home, but it gives ample ways and ideas about saving money and how to invest for the future. We bought this book to educate ourselves more about the investing options this book gives. Great read and any married couple in their 30's should read it!!

Buying a home is definitely one of the largest decisions we can make and this book was great in getting through all the "muck" to explain things thoroughly and easily. When it comes to something as large as this, I want things explained on a level my 4 year old could understand and this book does that. Adding in the peppering of humor keeps you interested and the flow of the book makes it easy to read. Anyone buying their first home or even their second should read this book!!

Excellent book, very interesting to read and keeps you informed. They dont make paternelistic decision yet give you good information. I dont read very much but this book I liked. Many basics are explained. I am a first time home buyer and I am sure I will not be making any major mistakes by reading this book well. definetly recommed to first time home buyers.

You can't beat the sound, easy to understand advice in this book. It's a great investment if you are in the market for a home. I was constantly researching along the way while also driving to different houses...it was exhausting and a lot to take in, but we did really well, I have to give some credit to the book for that. My advice after buying a home: Be diligent, go to areas that you would normally not consider at least once to check them out...you might find that it's for you, go to a lot of open houses, try not to get discouraged but if you do, just cry it out and move on, you may have to put in several offers if the market you're in is really competitive like the one we're in (California Bay Area) so just do it. Make sure you tell everyone you know that you're in the market for a house...sometimes you can find a hidden gem that way! Anyhow, great book, very comprehensive...the info you get from it is straightforward and honest. A wise investment...will have realtors quaking in their boots.
