  Comparsion of Newer Bible Versions

I am the author of a book which compares the 160 English Versions of the Bible avaialable today. 227 pages. My book Has charts showing the glaring errors in many versions. Some errors are relatively minor, such as the NKJV upper cases a reference to him that is not correct making it seem that Christ is sealed instead of the person accepting Christ who become sealed in John 6:27. More major is the switching Christ to God in Romans 14:10 in both the NKJV and in the NIV. My book will soon be available on Ebay. Email me bibledoor@rogers.com if you want to know when I list it.

That all said, I have been being asked what is the best KJV type of Bible to obtain which addresses the archaisms such as BEEVES which are cattle, AMERSE which means fine, HALT which means lame. I checked out a lot of Bibles other than the NKJV as it has lost some credibility with me and discovered many of the Newer KJV versions have missed these words as well and others. The Scoffield 1967 turns out to be the best one that I could find which addressed these truly archaic words. It keeps words like Thee and Ye however because they add precision that is missing in modern vernacular. So I am OK with that.

The USSHERS dating system which states that the world was created in 4004 BC still appears in the margins. This dating system was added to all KJV bibles in 1762 by Dr. Paris of Cambridge University. But sadly due to modern skepticism and even atheism this has been removed from most modern Bibles, even though the Bible itself when you trace the lineages proves that this is the case that Genesis chapter 1 happened in 4004 BC or very close to that date. Read your Bibles carefully such as the Lineage through Mary's line back to Adam given in Luke chapter 3. I am thrilled that this dating system remains but saddened that it was removed in the latest KJV version III bibles. What a sad day their 100th celebration year was that Scofield Bibles are now available in NKJV, NIV and have been tampering adversely with the notes as well of the Bible.

Bottom line is get this Bible. You won't be dissapointed!

  1967 Scofield KJV Study Bible

Nice translation. Easy to read font. Nice size. Great Center Column references and indexes. Disappointed with the paper quality is average at best and some of the print is unevenly stamped. The ink appears stronger in some areas then others. Easy to understand introductions of chapters without adding or taking away from the scriptures. Nice reference guides and concordance. Great gift bible.
