Hollywoodland (CD, Aug-2006, Decca USA)

This movie really disappointed me. The acting was strong, the script was tight, and the story was sound. However, The story was not honest. It depicted George Reeves to be something other than he was. It really cast a shadow on Reeves as an actor. It also failed to take into account that Reeves' career was on an upswing at the time of his death. It really portrayed him as a second-rate, two-bit actor, which I think was an unfair characterization. Further, if the truth had been told, the movie itself would have been shrouded in much more mystery, as is the death of Reeves, which would have given much more impact to the movie.
