For those who like to read fiction written in future

I don't really like books written about the future years. This one is a story about the year 2045. Although I read it (can't stand to buy a book and then not read it even if I don't care for the story), I prefer historical fiction rather than futuristic.
It was suspenseful and there was good detective work. I rated it good since it was written well, just not my cup of tea.
