I probably liked "Hitch" for different reasons than most... Sure, Will Smith is hilarious, Eva Mendes is gorgeous, there are plenty of laughs, and men and women seemed to enjoy the movie equally... But for me - the movie is all about Kevin James ('King of Queens'). James plays the average man (beer belly, insecure, etc) so well and with some much sarcasm.
Though there are plenty of great scenes between Smith (who plays Alex Hitchens - a ladies man and love doctor) and Eva Mendes - but Smith's interactions with Kevin James are priceless. James plays an insecure financial advisor who seeks guidance from Hitchens as he pursues Allegra Cole - a rich starlet. As James fumbles through words, dance moves, etc - the laughs start flowing.
The movie ends as you one would imagine - after all, everything ends perfectly in the romantic comedy world right? But you can't help but walking away with a smile and recounting some of the laughs during the movie.
The movie is decently written and certainly not award worthy... but Smith's and James enthusiasm and charisma is contagious and really makes the movie. If you are looking for a mindless time and a few laughs - try "Hitch."

I bought this video after viewing it once. It is the kind of movie to watch when you just want to laugh. Will Smith is so entertaining. If you want to laugh buy this movie.

I really loved this movie. It was both funny and Romantic. Hitch(played by Will Smith) is a professional love doctor. Men hire him to help them win the love of woman they really like. One of his cases is Albert (Played by Kevin James). Albert wants to date Allegra (played by Amber Valletta) a rich heiress that he works for. Hitch meets Sara (played by Eva Melas) a gossip colonist. He really likes her and wants to date her. Everytime he gets around her it turns into a disaster. When she discovers his job, she thinks it's different than it really is. She has a bad source and thinks he only does it to get woman in the bed with men. I will end here cause I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone. This is a hilarious movie. You won't regret this one.

What does the matchmaker and love doctor of New York City do when he is hopelessly in love with a woman who thinks he is a low-life? He finds out he isn't such an expert on love after all. Will Smith fits the role of "Hitch" perfectly with his smooth "Fresh Prince" ego lighting the way. Before the end, Hitch is humbled, gets, loses, gets, loses, and gets the girl again. A typical romantic comedy, but a great cast gives it the extra boost to a 4 rating.

I first saw this movie on a cruise, and the first thing I did when I got back home was bid on one right here on Ebay. I have watched this movie about 20 times, and it's still a great movie.
There's not a single boring spot in the whole movie.
It's a light comedy with a little romance thrown in to make a truly great movie.

I absolutely loved the movie "Hitch." When the previews were out & would laugh everytime at the selected scenes from the movie & after seeing them so many times I thought I wouldn't find it funny when I saw the full length movie, but I was wrong! I still laughed (both times I saw it in the theatre). Will Smith plays the role great & Kevin James is hilarious in it as well.

In this comedy, a matchmaker (played by Will Smith)tries to help men get noticed by the women they are interested in. One of the more hopeless looking men is played by Kevin James. He happens to be in love with a celebrity who does not know he is alive. The comedy begins there.
Kevin James is an amazing actor who can steal a scene without looking like he is even trying. He is great with physical comedy, but also has the ability to deliver his lines perfectly. Will Smith is also great in this movie. The two play off of each other and that really helps to make a funny scene even better.
In the Movie Will's character Alex, finds a women he is interested in, and we see him trying to be the smooth man he has trained his clients to be, but he fails date after date in embarassing and comedic ways.
This is one of the few comedies I really enjoyed from start to finish. The comedy is strong, but not overpowering or repetative. You grow to like the characters and the plot is humerous and refreshing. The movie also casually teaches men what women kinda like and what we don't like! :)
I would recommend this as a keeper for any movie collection.

i have already seen this dvd, but it was a favorite of mine. i didn't own it but i am so glad i purchased it off of ebay. it's a love story with a funny twist, and i never get tired of watching it!

This was a great romantic comedy. Will Smith did outstanding job, funny and hiliarous. Me and my husband love to sit down to a good movie after comming home from a hard day at work. This movie went great with our dinner and cuddle time.

Fabulous!I was SOOO impressed with this seller...We had a small problem in the beginning...when they went to ship it to us, they accidentally scratched the top design on the DVD. They immediately wrote and told us and said that if we wanted to chose a different one from them, they would work out a deal.We did pick a different one, and they said that they would send us the accidentally scratched one for free (that they didn't know if the scratch had caused damage to the actual movie). When wegot them both, they both worked fine, and she scratch was VERY MINOR. We will definately buy from this seller again, we appreciate their honesty and integrity.

I liked this movie. Will Smith and the other guy is pretty funny. This movie is about how a man named, Albert Brennamen, decided to consult a date doctor, appropriately named Hitch, (both the proper noun and verb implied) to get Hitched! This movie is funny at times; yet stoically serious at junctures. I recommend this movie to whoever feels like they're in the same situation. There are no basic principles on getting in love.

I like this movie very much. I bought it mainly because of Will Smith being in it. I had not seen it prior to buying it. It's one of those you movies you can watch over and over. Like rainy days, long Saturdays, days when you're bored. Delightful.
