This set is a MUST HAVE for an fan of music from the 50's to today. This set contains early performances of every great. Then you get to see the performers in detailed interviews. This compilation is amazing in every way and with over 13 hours of film.....one of the best buys on ebay!!

A friend had about 3 of these 5 DVDs with two different segments per each DVD for a total of 10 titles covering early rock n roll roots up through 60's through 80s, on to guitar heroes, then lastly, punk and then on up to date of issue. Visually and audibly excellent...truly a rock n roller's must have.

Time/Life did this the greatest way possible. Get this must have for yourself or a dear one in your life. You can't go wrong. The roots themselves reveal some interesting and different credits to different artists' contributions.

I have never seen a collection this comprehensive AND created so well.

Its the history of Rock and Roll from the 1940's to the present. It covers the Blues, Jazz and Country artists that developed the big beat sound that later evolved into rock music. Louis Jorden in the 40's. Hank Williams, Little
Richard in the 50's. The Beatles in the 60's. All the rest of the bands
up until the end of the millenium. This is a 5 disc set that is a lot of fun to watch espessially if you like Rock and Roll.

Thank you PBS. Although not original recordings from the 50's and 60's this saved the groups as they are now singing their original recordings. A great boon to rock and roll entheusists. Well worth the money.

Great documentary footage mixed with original footage of all the greats over the years... pulling it all together in an entertaining, fun format to watch.

The product said boxed set in the title and I only recieved one dvd. Luckily I had a backup present for the person for christmas otherwise I would have been quite upset. I am currently trying to get a refund.

I liked watching about some of the bands I grew up with. If I hadn't bought it,
I probably would sooner or later.

this is the music of my teen and early twenties. i have all the cd and wanted the dvd. i love it. cant say much more. excellent stuff, brings back memories.
