History Channel Presents - Life After People (DVD, 2008)

This is a great illustration of how the world would be without humans. It starts off by giving us a view of how it would be without hours after, then a few days, then a few months, then a few years. Ultimately it continues into hundreds of years without humans. It is well produced, well edited, the animations are done well. It compares portions of Chernobyl with their theories of how a city would be after years without humans. Since Chernobyl has been without people for over 20+ years, it offers a great comparision with this movie's theories. Life After People gives an in depth analysis with our buildings, structures, pets, food, animals, etc. And it keeps asking the question "What would happen to our buildings/pets/food/animals years after people are gone?" It gives specific examples on what would happen to the "Space Needle", the "Hoover Dam", New York City, and other popular structures/destinations. I rate this a strong must see.

Simply Excellent! I felt it was a true account of what will happen once we vanish. The world will go back to being natural and healthy. It will be the way God created it. Animals will roam free from human bondage. There will be a natural balance in the world.

Extra-fantastic documentary. Very dynamic, fast-paced and exciting! Perfect for all ages. The development of this theory has excelleng graphics and real true-to-life images.

Fantastic Documentary, if that's what you can call it. If you want to know what the world will be like after people disappear, this is the show for you. I have a ten and thirteen year old boys who also liked it.

This was the most exciting documentary I have ever seen! Computer animation and other things were used to show how our earth will look after people are gone.
What I liked the best was there showing it starting at one day after, clear until 10,000 years! Awesome....

this is a very interesting account of what happen to the earth if all people were removed from the planet. It shows how the earth could clean itself up quickly if people weren't around to keep messing it up.

This information calmed me with all the distruction humans do to the planet. I can somewhat accept the distruction now because in the end the planet will win, no matter what! Humans need to learn to care for the planet and all the distruction but I do understand that sometimes the human distruction gives the human a lesson. Just hope nothing drastic to final distruction happens to force the planet to do what this show documents.

I love this movie it is one of History Channels Best, its quite interesting to watch and would be great to show to a class

A mind-boggling documentary. Despite man's ability to carve out an existence on
this planet, it all collapses within a few thousand years, a blink of the eye in
astronomical time. the documentary does not answer one key question: what happened to man on earth. Where did he go, if he even survived. The most
intriguing aspect of the documentary is the way animals reclaim the planet in
the absence of man. Life goes on in many forms, animals, birds, fish, forests
that spring up where great cities once stood. The moral may be earth is able to
survive without man. Are there other planets in space where civilizations have
vanished after "intelligent life" has departed?

The word after means in the art world ..After Done in the style of a particular artist by other than that artist. If the artist had no creation or supervision and had no involvement at all with the pulling of a limited edition, then each piece in the edition would be considered as "after" the artist. (it does not connote after the artist's death).

i bought this one day on ebay when i stumbled on a link on wikipedia. this movie is really good, as it goes in a timeline of what would happen if man suddenly vanished. it goes in increments of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 etc. the men who helped piece it together are all phd professors in fields of civil engineering, biology, etc. overall, ive watched this movie three times already and i plan on watching it again! also, if you buy it, check out the special features section- it examines all the doomsday scenarios that can cause the death of man.

I bought this item for myself and a copy for a dear frend that missed it the first time it came on. I absolutely love this film, its very interesting, and very easy to follow, and enjoy. I have watched it two times already, and will watch it many more times. I couldn't find anything wrong with the film. It is amazing how the earth would reclaim all things. Hopefully man wouldn't be on the next go around. Thanks for a really nice evening.

These kind of documentary's are great to watch over and over again. The material is beautifully put together and the special effects are fantastic.
