Saving you from collecting a lot of 15 year old papers!

Penguins, bugs, a billionaire batchelor, pint-sized hacker with a politically incorrect virus (it spouts messages such as 'Men Rule, Rap Sucks, Eat Fatty Meat" and hypnotises his parents to forget to dress etcetera) and this is in the days when 28.8 K was hi-tech! Not to forget everybody's favorite, errrr-CAT, "Bill"!
A deliciously naughty, rebellious and unhinged take on anything that moved then, Outland was the third strip for Breathed, after Academia Waltz (1978-79) and his breakthrough work Bloom County (1980-89). He resumed weekly strips not long ago with Opus and his work can be found on his own website and the omnibus website comics.com
Never mincing metaphor if it can be pureed, Breathed leaves you puzzled, aghast and just plain amused as all get out with a touch of awe as to how he got away with that? His editorial style is ever sharp and his wit piercing even today and if that was all he did, he'd be broke for a few years at a time...
Berkeley Breathed also creates children's books, is an avid boater and sportsman and crusades against mistreament of pets and problems with shelters. He's probably just about accidentally killed himself more than once but like Bill the Cat seems to have more lives than I thought (I thought he was dead myself)... All in all not bad for a guy with only 51 years to speak of on this strange planet.
I have no dislikes of the book, after all it reminded me of a lot of dumb things from the nineties in the most hilarious way! I bought it because it was cool and about $3.00...wouldn't YOU? In the process I found the Opus strip and a site where all of his strips were available. DING DING DING...Bonus round! I'll take Famous Hairballs for $1000, Alex.
