Movie Description
Japanese artist Toshi Maruki's HIROSHIMA NO PIKA comes to the screen after the book of the same name won plenty of plaudits for its sensitive portrayal of the Hiroshima bombing. Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon provides voiceover narration throughout. Also included is HELLFIRE: A JOURNEY FROM HIROSHIMA, which follows artists Iri and Toshi Maruki as they create the "Hiroshima Murals." The 15 works they created have captivated audiences all over the world, and serve as an important artistic achievement and a salient lesson on the horrific nature of the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima.
