If you're not familiar with Hippo I'm not surprised but trust me this is an excellent club in every way. The 380 head is plenty big enough without making you feel like your swinging a small pumpkin. It has all the technological advantages of titanium, perimeter weighting and a frequency matched shaft. In other words compare this club with your TaylorMades, Nikes and Callaways not your Walmart specials. And what deals you can get these for on EBay!! Mine is a mint condition 9deg with a regular shaft, new golf pride grip and original headcover. I paid $9.99 and that included shipping!! So for less than the price of a sleeve of premium golf balls I got a premium club. You can spend a $75 to a $100 on a used TaylorMade or Nike but you won't be happier....just poorer. Trust me!!

  Hippo 380-S Driver
Review created: 05/07/09

The Hippo 380-S is one awesome driver! You will notice how lightweight it feels. This allows for tremendous club head speed. It gives off a nice "ting" when hit, not a dull thud as with some less expensive drivers. After using a 460 head for so long, I wasn't sure the 380 would be acceptable, however, the driver has the back bone to launch the ball. It's quite workable too. The 9 degree loft is perfect for longer drives with more roll. The standard Hippo grip feels great on this club. I have owned two and just bought a third! Why?? If something happens, I don't want to have to wait on a replacement driver. This is one very nice driver for the money. I have hit "high dollar" clubs and still own several, however, they are not in my playing bag. The Hippo 380-S is the leader of my pack! You won't be disappointed. The thin titanium face allows superb spring action, making the ball explode off of the face. Go ahead, compare it to the more expensive clubs...I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Great Club, great value!

  Dissatisfied
Review created: 01/07/07

This golf club was not quite as advertised. The face was scarred up very badly and the grip was split. Very disatisfied. Also it hits like the inside face is dead.

  Hippo Giant 380-S Driver

I was in the market for a largish driver with a stiff shaft, and this club appeared to be an extremely good deal, so I bought it. It was being sold as "used," but had only been used once and appeared virtually brand new. IIRC, I think I paid $9.99 plus $12 shipping.

The 380-S is a very attractive club, with a clean, classic appearance (as opposed to some of the gaudy stuff being sold these days).

The club is supposedly 380cc, but it appears nearly as large as a 450cc driver that I own, and this imparts a feeling of confidence at address.

I am only a novice golfer, but I find this club to be forgiving. I frequently get 270-280 yards from this club (roughly equivalent to my Dunlop Goliath, and about 30 yards more than I ever got from my old Callaway Great Big Bertha.

Several sellers on eBay have offered these clubs at very attractive prices. For the money, you can't go wrong putting one of these in your bag.
