The Hills - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2007)

I personally love The Hills and think its a good show. its neat to follow LC and see where her life brings her. its a very addicting show, i never want to stop watching it.

Fans of Laguna Beach will love the first season of The Hills, which follows Laguna's Lauren Conrad as she attends fashion school in Los Angeles and works as an intern at Teen Vogue magazine. OK, so that's the premise for this quasi-reality MTV series. But in reality, the show is an excuse to watch pretty young people make out, break up, get back together, and break up some more. The show has more in common with a daytime drama than a documentary; none of the subjects worries too much about paying rent for their glamorous apartments or designer clothes. But when it comes to dating, the Geneva Convention could learn a thing or two about negotiating from these gals. Lauren fans may be dismayed to learn that Jason, the monosyllabic Lothario who cheated on her in the second season of Laguna Beach is back. And instead of going on dates with the thousands of young men who would love to have a pretty blonde on their arms (and get the opportunity to appear on TV to boot!), Lauren allows Jason to get back into her good graces--even though he hasn't matured since high school. Or figured out how to treat a woman. Or learned how to talk better. It's actually heartbreaking watching her struggle with a relationship that we can all see is doomed. Or is it?

The season finale ends with the kind of dilemma we all wish we could've faced when we were 19 or 20: spend the summer working in Paris or move into a beach house with your boyfriend and frolic on the beach for three months. Paris? Jason? Hmmmm. You'd think that'd be a no-brainer. Also on hand to offer support are Lauren's friends Heidi and Audrina. The cast always looks chic and freshly made up (even after getting out of bed) and the cameras somehow always manage to be in the right place to capture romantic moments (and drama). It's easy to make fun of this show because of the preposterous setup that this sun-kissed life is reality for a group of kids who don't seem to have to work that hard for their privileged lives. But therein lies the guilty pleasure. We know it's a fantasy created by MTV. And while we would kill for the rocking apartments, cars, and clothes, there is no way most of us would endure being publicly humiliated to get 15 minutes of fame.

I absolutely love the Hills. I try to watch it every season, but if i miss i will buy the seasons on DVD just so i can stay caught up.

Very entertaining. Fun and drama combined. Can get very addicting to watch. They dress great. Makes me want to move to California.

It's very interesting to see how other people live. This movie was very interesting, and clean....no bad sexual contact or foul mouths.

This series is a little too personal for me. I enjoyed Laguna beach a bit better. I enjoyed the characters on Laguna Beach better than the characters on The Hills 1st season. I also didn't like the way the series ended

I have liked all the seasons so far and the deal was so cheap that I thought why not buy it like this rather than spending 20 bucks on it in the store.

I watched both season 1 and 2 of Laguna Beach and I wanted to see The Hills so I decided to purchase it.

This is a great show if all you want to do is watch someone else's life unfold and made public. There is definitely some drama here. I would not let my friend's 13 year old watch it but I think it is definitely appropriate for teens over 16 years old.

So excited to see what's up with LC and the gang. All the drama is worth watching AGAIN!. There's always friction and suspense with the LA crew.

The Hills follows fashion intern Lauren Conrad (originally from Laguna Beach), and her friends Heidi, Whitney & Audrina. Lauren graduates high school in Laguna and becomes an intern at Teen Vogue in LA. Through drama, love, hate, work, and partying, these girls don't get any rest!! Lauren finds a way to handle Jason and work, and Heidi moves from guy to guy yet still doesn't know what she wants all while dropping out of fashion school. They meet Audrina, their first friend in LA, and Whitney who interns alongside Lauren. Friendships will be made, lost, and loves will come and go. But these Hills girls always seem to find a way to work it out in the end. Follow the humor, the fights, the love and all the crazy partying in this great MTV series.
