Movie Description Filmed in Spanish (with subtitles), this deceptively simple film showcases director Alex Cox's continued interest in South American affairs. Pedro Rojas, the highway patrolman of the title, is a simple man working in an incredibly corrupt system. Pedro's job, his troubles with women, and a constant pressure for money lead him again and again into desperate, dangerous situations. HIGHWAY PATROLMAN is a little gem, a powerful, character-centered film that deserves a wider audience than its initial limited release allowed.
Notes Running time 105 minutes.
