Highalnd Captive - another Hannah Howell must read!!

Another fine fast paced enjoyable story from Hannah Howell. The story begins in Scotland Highlands with the lead lady, Amil and her brother out riding enjoying the beauty and allure of the Highlands. As usual in the Highlands, these were fueding times and the clans where always raiding one another and this day was no exception. Amil and her brother came up against a raiding party and were both abducted by the infamous fierce MacGuin clan.
The MacGuin clan leader "Black Parlan" holds the siblings for ransom as he expects her betrothed and her family to pay a fortune. Another thing the the Black Parlan want to claim for his own is Amil's well trained massive horse baned Elfking. Initially, Aimil is warry of the Laird because of the infamous vicious rumors of his dining on babies. As time passes, she quickly finds her warden is a caring leader and a good man, even though he wants her horse.
Aimil refuses to give him her beloved horse that she nurtured from a colt as he demands. He understands the love of a good horse so he offers her an alternative choice; her as his lover or the horse. As their true feelings start to develop for each other, her bethrothed plots to kidnap her and Parlan's former lover shows on the scene to start more trouble.
I don't want to give all the story away, so you will have to read the rest to see how things end for Amil and Parlan in this fast paced fun adventure. The humor used to convey the love of Amil's horse is priceless. As always, Hannah Howell's characters are described as if you knew them.
I loved this book and hope you will enjoy it too. I found out after I read this, that this book is a reprint of some of Hannah Howell's previous writings. The title was originally Elking's Lady.
