Classic vintage animation
This movie was made by Ralph Bakshi, who is famous for his classic animated movies from the 70's and 80's including Fritz the cat,Cool world and American Pop. I purchased this VHS to relive the memories I had watching and recording it from cable. My old recording is not very watchable and I wanted a fresh copy. It is long out of print and is currently unavailable on DVD. The quality of the VHS was very good.
The movie itself told a great story about life in the streets of Brooklyn during the 50's,complete with gangs, rumbles, parties, and cruising the streets with their girlfriends. It's also a dark story as it has it's share of violence resulting in death betrayal,a father who hates and beats his own son,and the loss of friendship and love. It's a vivid movie with exaggerated characters and a great musical soundtrack.
