Hewlett Packard Photosmart 8450 InkJet Printer

I bought this printer about a month ago so I could print my own professional looking photos right at home. I did alot of research on photo printers and decided on the HP 8450 because of it had all of the features i needed at a reasonable price. I like the fact that you do not even need a computer to print your photos. This printer has slots for and reads all types of memory cards, and then displays your photos on a LCD screen right on the printer. You can also hook your camera directly to the printer using a usb cable to view and print your photos. One feature that I really like is the dedicated photo tray for your 4x6 photos. You can print photos on a wide variety of paper sizes, from 3x5 up to 8.5x14. Another nice feature the printer provides is a variety of enhancements that can improve the quality of your photos. It can remove red eye, adjust brightness, automatically focus a blurred photo, apply digital flash to a photo with poor lighting, crop, add decorative frames and color effects such as sepia and black and white. This printer is very easy to use, and the menu is easy to navigate. This is a very nice printer that prints professional looking photos.
The only downside to this printer and any other printer for that matter is the cost of the ink cartridges. This pritner uses 3 cartridges, a photo cartridge, a gray cartridge and a black cartridge. You can also put in a regular tri-color if you are printing something other than photos. These cartridges range from $20.00 to $30.00 a piece. I use this printer for photos only and use my HP deskjet 3940 for my everday printing needs.
I would highly recommend this printer to anyone thinking of buying a photo printer. This printer has exceded my expectations and added a valuable tool to my photograpy hobby.
