    I tried to buy this printer to re-sell because I had already bought several for other friends and relatives. It is a very good general, as well as photo printer. You can also re-fill the cartridges and save a lot of money doing this. I have an p1100 and a p1218 and I use them regularly. It has a card slot for the smart media and the compact flash type cards. I just happen to have cameras with each type of card. The printer does not have to be connected to a pc in order to print photos. Normal print speed is 12 ppm in black & 10 ppm in color. The two models I have came with a duplexing unit and it allows printing on both sides of the sheet. You can buy the duplexer for the p1000.

    I trust HP over most products. I have had Cannon, which is also a name I trust, BUT the HP Printer has not only outlasted my last cannon printer, BUT It seems to print longer and better quality. I can recommend HP above all other names!
