Easiest to network with Linux

At Spring '09 this printer has a little age on it, but at $71 + shipping it was a good deal. I'm using it on the wired ethernet, but it works fine wireless, too. It installed as a 'network printer' instantly in Ubuntu Heron & Ibex using cups and the HP driver, and the scanner is SANE-compliant & works over ethernet, too.
For me, a geek who needs to run a mix of machines & OSs, from Windoze 2K thru 7 + Linux flavors, being able to plug an IP address into this thing and have it recognized makes my life easier, don't have to mess with Samba or otherwise screw with Windows networking.
The feeder for multi-page copying/faxing might be a little too lightweight. Folded letters cause it to jam, where they run fine thru a big Xerox or one of the heavier multi-function printers. So far, after lotsa two-sided pages printed and copied, the duplexer seems to work fine.
This is not a super-fast printer, and it sure isn't the quickest for paper handling. But I didn't need speed, only needed a color printer that's easy to interface with anything and this does it. If it's like my other HP Office-quality printers it'll still be working in 2020 if I can afford the ink cartridges...
