I've purchased several of these printers from ebay, including one for my father-in-law, who loves it. While it is large and heavy, it is a nice color laser printer for the money. I have had mine for several years now and have it networked with a JetDirect card. The nice feature about the color laserjet 5 and 5M is that toner is relatively inexpensive and doesn't use cartridges. Refilling is easy and takes less than a minute. The major drawbacks are that it only prints color on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, legal and tabloid only is printed in black and white. Also, it does not print envelopes. However, these are small defects for a nice, reliable color laserjet printer for the money.

I bought this printer at auction and waited for its delivery. It was packed in a very flimsy carton and padded with balls of newspaper. As a consequence of the poor packing, the printer was seriously damaged. It's plastic case was badly broken.
I contacted the seller and after two attempts, he finally responded by saying he would send me another printer. I'm still waiting.
I threw the damaged printer away.

) The printer is old, print quality is poor, the toner did not work, the items is a peice of junk. lousy, lousy, lousy etc, etc, etc.
