Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4100n Printer

The printer itself was as advertised. It had a maintenance needed light on. I returned the printer' they corrected the problem and was resent back to us. the printer is up and running well. Our nurse appreciates the faster printer and I apprecaite that they wanted to make the purchase right.

I would do business with them again.

I bought this LaserJet 4100n as my personal printer in my office, the community printer is also 4100n but is down the hall from me. So, I decided to get the same printer my office because, simply put, this printer is a work-horse. We are a mortage broker office and we print easily 2 reams of paper a day with our 20-40 page contracts, appraisals, title work, etc... and I have only seen it being worked on once in three years for new rollers. Its quite but not silent, but I don't care, I am in a sales environment not a hospital. I starts to print quickly even with cold starts. It's a great value!

This printer is the final polish to the 4000 series printers. Fast, reliable and easy to find supplies for. Plenty of options as well. It's smart but not so smart as to not allow you to actually use all of the supplies before shutting off, like the newer models.

The hp 4100n has been around for quite some time. The printer is very versitile and I own another one in which I have prited ove 400,000 pages on. the supplies are extremly easy to get and all and all it is a fabulous printer

Like the durability and easy access to replacement parts and repairs..Rollers seem to wear out quickly. Needed faster replacements

Some parts were loose but this was do to shipping and handling the item, after putting back the parts, the printer boot up fine and the paper count was exactly as described.

I got tired of cheap inkjet and laser printers at home -- hard to fix when they conk out, and they always do -- so I decided to get a more industrial-strength model.

I had purchased a 4100n at retail prices years ago for an office, and it was still going strong. I hoped a refurbished printer from eBay would serve well, and it has. Real PostScript, fast, quality printing. Just attach to my network and go.

My vendor was exceptional, by the way, fixing a small problem quickly and professionally.

Cartridge takes a bucket of ink which will last.... You do the math. Yes, you can pick one up for around $20 from Ebay. Printer can be hooked up through USB Print Server. Cool! I have AirLink PS. Just buy USB to Parallel cable from Ebay for about $5. Well, shipping takes about 2 weeks. Also Network, if the Router is close to the unit. "n" in 4100n is for Network. Hence, Network card should come with it. Or go strait to PC via USB to Parallel. Yes, not all USB to Parallel cables would work if printer is hooked up via USB Print Server. Have no idea why? I got one that is working fine. The other one by Inland, would not work.
Not sure why, but those that come with mini-CD would not work.

This is a commercial quality printer. It is fast and more solidly built than laser printers manufactured today. With the Jetdirect 3111A card, this printer can print via ethernet, BNC, or Appletalk connections. I am satisfied with this printer.

This is the work horse of HP printers. I had one in my office at work and wanted one for our home use. I highly recommend this printer, even recommending it over HP's newer printers.

Fast & excellent print out.

However, even with a good bit of RAM onboard,
slows and stumbles on lots of photos/graphics in print job.

Power use - when NOT in use is low enough that it paid to
buy this, over holding on to my perfectly useable LJ4+

Got the order quickly and have had no problems with them since. Great purchase choice and no complaints.

This printer is a workhorse. The mono laserjets seem to last forever. The toners are pricey...but you only have to buy them after 10,000 prints at least...sometimes you can get 15K or so just by shaking it up. Greyscales are excellent...you don't have to replace the drum until it gets to 200K prints. Nice.

the printer didn't work. paper just get stuck every time I try to print. The paper tray seems to be flimsy. Tried to replace the rollers and catcher, but it just cannot be made to work

It's a workhorse, have had no problems with this printer. Was an excellent buy, it is fast and easy to use.

I work for a Fortune 500 company in the IT department and see all of the printers that come through. The HP 4100 is a solid workhorse designed to be fast and reliable. I'm currently in graduate school and have to print a lot. My family and I split use of an inkjet which runs through ink constantly. I found a 4100n with duplexer for a great price and it rocks. Now I don't have to worry about the kids printing too much or taking a lot of time to print a 5 page document. I just leave it on all the time and let it rip when I need to. Plus having three computers at home, the network card inside makes sharing issues obsolete.

All around solid printer at a great Ebay price!
