    I like HP printers. every one I have owned has performed as advertised. The HP5440 has a little larger desktop presence than I had anticipated. I was looking for a smaller version with similar specs. The printer does perform as advertised and I am not disapointed with its function. The paper tray is the weak link. The plastic clips that allow the tray to rise up out of the way on the desktop are fragile and break easily.
    I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for an inexpensive color printer of avarage size and specs.
