Great printer, but...

HP knows it has a design flaw in its "springs" that pump the ink cartridges. A broken spring under a cartridge stops all printing. I went thorugh one new printer at $400 plus and two used ones before knowing how to personally repair a spring...and there are four of them!
The printer is really great except for this problem and the problem that it needs over $250.00 of ink cartridges and ink printer heads to operate. If one is down, the entire printer is down and you have a dickens of a time figuring out which one is out. You have to keep up with a check page before one runs out, its too late to check afterwards.
As I have ink cartridges and inkheads on hand, I continue trying to replace the printer rather than switch to a newer model. But, again ... I like this printer and fear I will not like a newer replacement model.
