It is all business all the time with this powerful workhorse designed specifically for real estate, finance and business professionals. Over 250 built-in functions, a clock, calendar, appointment tracking and much, much more at a price that would make an accountant smile.

This calculator replaces the good old and very appreciated HP 17B (code name trader!). Same construction as the last rock solid series of calculators produced by Hewlett-Packard at the end of 90's. You can place it in the pocket of your shirt and forget about it. Thin, light and efficient, you will appreciate its black stylish dress! HP made its name on calculators and this model is one of those that reminds us why!!!

This calculator has been replaced by the new HP-17BII+ model. Despite the fact the 17BII+ is the latest, I would not recommend it compared to the 17BII that is much better. Although the BII+ shows some new capabilities, the keystrokes are very similar and the 17BII+ has a cheap feel to the buttons when pressed and sometimes the number or function doesn't register when the button is pressed (welcome to cost cutting and production cycles outsourced to China!).

You will not have any problem to find a HP-17BII on eBay today and I think it is a better investment than the BII+. The 17BII has been produced first in Singapor (we can identify it because it shows 5 rubber feet on the back) and secondly in Indonesia (this one shows 3 rubber feet only on the back). The singaporian model is the one to look for, particularly if you are a collector. Keep an Indonesian model if you like variations and because it is a better model than the 17BII+. The nostalgic users will seek for a 17B which is the less powerfull but the oldest model. The collector will seek also for the black variation of the Indonesian model.

  HP 17BII Financial and Scientific

The HP 18BII is high quality, and has a feel and functionality that is addictive. It has more capability and speed than the HP 12C (which I loved) and really replaces the HP 19C and has all that necessary functionality. And both RPN and algebraic, as needed.

I had some calculators with inferior keyboards and review of the HP 17BII+ gave me concern so I found the original BII.

I wish the case was better, but glad to have the unit.

I thought the price was good and that it was worth, even though I had no use for it. I would pass it along to a friend.

  HP 17bII after 20 yrs is still the best
Review created: 01/09/09

After 20 yrs the design and functionality of this calculator has withstood the test of time. Appropriate spacing between the buttons, menu driven functions, unlimited decimals, a list function so that you can review a register of inputs like you would on a ten key (except you can edit in the HP), NPV, memorized formulas, long battery life, adjustable viewing angle (not the screen but within the LCD display), the list goes on. Every good accountant should have an HP17BII.

  Still the standard bearer for financial calculators.
Review created: 10/17/08

I have been working in the financial world for years, long before computers were so readily available. The HP calculators were the only way we had to run numbers without doing it by hand. With all of the improvements and advent of computers, this calculator is still just as pertinent as ever. I use it on a daily basis. They are not made quite as sturdy as they once were, but they still perform as well as ever.

  I had to have a replacement!
Review created: 07/09/08

I have been using this same type of calculator since college years. (Let's just say it has been a long time...) Mine was starting to lose its brightness and a few pixels were broken on the LCD screen. I even had a distinguishing scratch on the front face, but I still used it several times a week. When I decided to replace it with a new calculator, my first searches found that HP was no longer selling this model. Thanks to other user reviews, I knew in advance that I would not care for the newer version of the 17bII. So, I was happy to learn that this model was available for resale from several eBay Sellers. The rest is history... I couldn't be happier with my "new-used" calculator!

Reason for purchase was to replace an older model of the same product.

Transaction was very smooth, and product delivered is brand new (as per the advertisement).

I bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

there's nothing wrong with eBay. but the vendor has performed unsatisfactorily. To wit:

Item ordered and paid for 12/24/07;

Item not delivered; on inquiry vendor states it had "been lost by Post
Office". Promise to send it again;

Item arrives 1/31/08; it is NOT the item ordered; the same brand but a far
cheaper model;

When notified, vendor uses expletive in e-mail response;

As of this date, merchandise has not been delivered.

This has been a wholly unsatisfactory purchasing experience. Strongly suggest you (i) force vendor to deliver item ordered, and (ii) review your relationship with vendor. Vendor:

  HP 17b11 Calculator for Real Estate Finance Class
Review created: 12/05/07
by:

The 17b11 was highly recommended by the instroctor of the class. Previously I used an HP 10B11. The 17b11 is much easier to use and allows greater creativity when doing investment analysis. The 2 - line display and the menus that are specific to the user goals take this tool beyond mere calculations. I was amazed and I continue to learn additional ways to use the 17b11.

I needed a HP that had a similar foot print to the HP she has had for the past 15 years. This calculator seemed to have similar characteristics in that formulas can be entered and saved.
