We are only moderately computer savvy but wanted and have been wanting a device for my wife to use for up to date, portable drug reference guides, which can be down loaded to hand held units like this. She also has been wanting a portable digital photo album and an mp3 player for her jogging.
We have owned it for a week and love it, to be truthful I have spent many frustrating hour solving some problems all of which, have been user induced and might I add, resolved.
It seems to be an excellent tool for all of our needs, its capability of reading high capacity SD cards is an excellent source for almost unlimited storage in the future.
I don't believe a more user friendly system can be produced.
It's compact, robust, clear screen, ample preloaded software to begin with.
So far we love it.
You will need head phones for the music, or be in a very quiet environment, it has blue tooth connectivity that we use for the head phones.

I have owned just about every PDA built by HP, Jornadas 548,620,680,690,720,728, and most recently a HX4700. I have found in the two weeks I have owned this Ipaq 111 I'm convinced this Ipaq is perfection in size & features. It is by far the fastest PDA I have ever used, and though I was tempted to buy the 211 I'm now convinced that I made the right choice. The 802.11g wifi and pocket Explorer 6 surf the web very well! I use the bluetooth in combination with Pharos' Osita software and a Pharos Bluetooth GPS recieved and have been very satisfied. I have moved files & songs between the Ipaq and my cell phone using the bluetooth as well. My son had a set of the Motorola S9 bluetooth headphones so I tried them out also using the bluetooth connection, I ordered myself a set of S9's immediatly! The SDHC slot works perfectly for storage, I'm using a Sandisk Extreme III SDHC card and access times seem to be really quick. The Ipaq 111 works fine as an MP3 / video player for my taste. The only thing I miss is the Ipaq audio equalizer from the HX4700. Battery run time seems to be fantastic even with the screen set at full brightness. Best of all, I can drop it in my shirt pocket! Very light-weight unit! I recently tried a Palm Lifedrive and this Ipaq 111 leaves the Palm unit in the dust. Also did I mention the price? The Ipaq 111's VALUE is unequalled in any other PDA!
