This is your standard financial calculator and functions very well. The biggest advantage remains that it is the recommended / permitted calculator for most professional exams ie CFP, CGA and etc. I bought it mainly for the use for my real estate exams. They allow other financial calculators in the exam but this model is widely used in our weekly exercise and it is very easy to use. I would highly recommend this model for any professional that needs a well balanced financial calculator.

The two Hewlett Packard calculators I use are the HP12C and the HP17BII+ with the HP12C being my favorite. If I were going to purchase a new HP12C I would be sure to get the Platinum Edition for the increased speed.

I bought the HP-10BII calculator for a finance class in my MBA program. This was the calculator being used by the professor. The calculator is very easy to use and comes with a manual that gives some very good examples of using the different financial functions. Calculating TMV and EARs were a cinch. This is definitely a good product to buy for a finance class.

Despite it's title, this is a financial calculator and I would not describe it as a scientific calculator. If trying to use this calculator as a true scientic calculator, then I would recommend going for other models. The scientific mode is not that great. Doing calculations containing multiple factors is much easier on other scientifc calculators (e.g TI-30XA).

I had to buy this calculator for a finance class. Its built in functions make basic financial calculations simple. Keystroke sequences for functions are intuitive and easy to learn. Overall, a very good calculator. I own and use both TI and HP calculators and I prefer the HPs. They just have a higher quality feel to them.

I believe HP really stepped it up when creating this financial calculator. It is very easy to use and easy to read. All the financial exams, CFP, ChFC, CLU are now using this calculator as well. It is a tool as an financial advisor I cannot live without!

This is a gret product for finance and accounting majors as far as I can see so far. If you can't afford the expensive and fancy financial cals, go with this one, you won't be disappointed.

The case is leather. I think it's an older model, but this is my first Financial calculator. It seemed like a good price for an HP-10BII. I needed it for my finance class.
