SUMMERTIME WAS THE BOMB!!!!!!!

It is still probably my favorite all time song! The greatest beat and it was laid back. Most of the other stuff wasn't really my style but Summertime was the biggest anthem of all time in the summer! - gene

  CLASSIC

DJ Jazzy Jeff, Fresh Prince, + Ready Rock C return for their 2nd album. This 1988 classic is HIP-HOP FIRST DOUBLE-LENGTH ALBUM. It starts off with the hit single "Nightmare On My Street." This song still gets airplay everytime Halloween rolls around. The 1st single from this album is the classic "Brand New Funk." This track catches the trio in raw form...all them thing doing what they do best on one track. If you want to know what a finely tuned Hip-Hop group sounds like, check this track. The music video brought the song to the masses to a live recording of it. The monster hit off the album was the 2nd single "Parent's Just Don't Understand." This is JJ+FP coming at you with the same comicial story-telling forumula that made them a hit in the 1st place with "Girls Ain't Nohting But Trouble." After all these years, the song is still funny and delivers a store generations to come will be able 2 relate 2.

Now lets get deeper into the album. If love classic old school Hip-Hop, check the tracks Here We Go Again, Charlie Mack (1st Out The Limo), As We Go, Pump Up The Bass, Live At Union Square, and He's The DJ, I'm The Rapper. Those who love turntablism, check DJ Jazzy Jeff shining on the DJ cuts "DJ On The Wheels, Rhythm Trax-House Party Style, Hip-Hop Dancer's Theme, and Jazzy's In The House. There are also some unique tracks on this album. "Time To Chill" offers up Hip-Hop's 1st ever mellow joint. "My Buddy" has Ready Rock C and Fresh Prince taking down rap crew after rap crew, and "Human Video Game" is a creative and funny song about the 'Prince's addiction to Donky Kong.

All in all, this is easily one of the top 10 Hip-Hop albums ever. U got the DJ, the rapper, the beatbox, the comedy, the creative writing, and talent all over the album. Without this album, Hip-Hop would not be where it is today. And perhaps a new album from JJ+FP would bring Hip-Hop back where it needs to be.

If you want to call yourself a Hip-Hop fan, you can't do it until u pick this album up.

My fiance has been looking for this DJ Jazzy Jeff cd everywhere for years. When I found it he was so excited! This made his day when it came in the mail. I would buy from this seller again because the shipping was very quick and the cd was mint. No scratches and in it's origional case.

I have a collection of cds and Lps from when I was in high school 1986 to 1990 and DJ jazzy jeff and The Fresh Prince were one of those that started it all. By experience I have learned to buy it know in good and cheap conditions before they become expensive or imposible to find.

Taking me back in the day
Review created: 11/01/06

I purchased this CD because I was sitting around one day just thinking back on my Jr. High days. When all of a sudden some songs poped in my head. Some of them being from DJ Jazzy & The Fresh Prince tape...He's The DJ I'm The Rapper. So I figured I'd search e-bay for. BAM...there it was. I got it for something like 3 dollars. The purchase was nice and easy. The seller (silentgeoff-cdsplus) was fast with shipment and answered all my questions in a timely manner. The CD is in excellent condition. It was one of my first purchases threw E-Bay and has made me more secure with E-Bay as a site. Thanks E-Bay.
