The Herend Art of Hungarian Porcelain by Sikota (1989, Book)

This book is a "must" for collectors of Herend porcelains. A well-thought-out history of Herend with many fine illustrations provides both the established collector and "would-be" collector with great background information. My collection of Herend porcelain has multiplied through eBay purchases. When I was in eastern europe is September 2007 I didn't visit the Manufactory, but I did peruse shops in Budapest. I didn't make any purchases since I can find identical items on eBay for at least one-half the retail asking price. I recently purchased the Hadik Hussar and the large giraffe from sellers on eBay. The book is excellent,and,it has whetted my appetite for further purchases of Herend porcelain. (Reviewed by Dr. Don L. Crawford)
