Excellent New and Old songs Something for Everyone

I am a long-time fan of America and if you loved their hits in the past, or just like the softer, mellow rock sounds of the early 70's you will want this album. Their new collaborations with James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins and Adam Schlesinger producing are simply wonderful. Check out their cover of Nada Surf's Always Love, or the Horse With No Name-esq Ride On. There are almost too many great new songs to pick a favorite, but all of them have captured that simpler time and place feel of the California Singer-Songwriter era. Beckley and Bunnell's soaring harmonies and sincere heart-felt lyrics are in top form here. I received my copy of this CD on Jan. 18th and have been listening to it daily.
For the older fans who love their classics, the other CD in this disc has crisp, clear, live versions of all their classics; Horse With No Name, Ventura Highway, Sister Golden Hair, Lonely People, Tin Man, and I Need You just to name a few. These were recorded live at the XM Performance Theater on Oct. 23 2005 and convey how tight and masterful this band is during a live show. For old and new fans of this band, I HIGHLY recommend this new release!
