Album Notes
A sequel to They Might Be Giants' well-received HERE COME THE A,B,C'S, 2008's HERE COME THE 1,2,3'S find the alt-pop duo of John Flansburgh and John Linnell offering up another whimsical-yet-informative set of kid-oriented tunes. As the title implies, the album is numerically minded, from the breezy "Zeroes" to the jaunty "Nine Bowls of Soup" to the raucous "Eight Hundred and Thirteen Mile Car Trip."
As always, TMBG juggles musical genres as it presents its silly ditties, with styles ranging from bossa nova to electronica to rock. Not content to stick solely to numbers, however, Flansburgh and Linnell throw in a few stray non-counting songs, most notably their "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Theme," a chipper, horn-laden track that illustrates just how far the band has come from being 1980s college-rock misfits.

Editorial Reviews
3.5 stars out of 5 -- The band remains respectful of a child's short and fickle attention span while still crafting quirky and cool songs...
