Her voice is strong and crisp and she goes full circle from jumpers like, All The Way Down, and In The Basement, to the heart breaking ballads, Fool That I AM, and I'd Rather Go Blind, which she just melts you. I LOVE THIS CD AND I PURCHASED BECAUSE I LIKE ETTA JAMES. SHE SINGS WITH SUCH FEELING. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO LIKES BLUES OR SOUL MUSIC. IT HAS A LITTLE BIT OF EACH.

After viewing 'CADILAC RECORDS' I was immediately interested in hearing more of her music. I did recall a couple of her hits as a teenager ( AT LAST & TELL MOMMA ) but back then I wasn't into the blues as MOTOWN and STAX ruled. But as I've matured and come to appreciate more genres I wanted to add this to my collection as well. It was good to hear the music in its original format and not some more recent rendition or rearrangement. I was so satisfied that I took a chance or her most recent release 'ALL THE WAY'too.
