I wish that it was a bit longer and offered a bit more in regards to documentary style information, however, for a movie based basically on the acts, the outcome. It is definitely a good find. Learn even more about his relationship with Dennis (The Beach Boys ) drummer. Any story that seeks to find the madness of Charlie Manson will be a little on the left field side, but as for a movie about the times, acts and mentality of him. It rocks

I found this pretty true to what I've heard about what really happened. I thought the lead actor did wonderfully. Every now and then, it was a little too dramatic, but very good as a whole. I think the actors did a very good job at portraying the real people. It certainly kept my attention thru the whole movie, and I usually fall asleep for everything! I thought it was very interesting, and good from start to finish. I think it was very much worth buying and I recommend it to others. I know it sounds horrible to think something like this is worth buying, and very interesting, but we have to admit that we are curious people, and people do find fascination in such characters as Manson and the family. We feel the need to know what is really in a person to do such horrible things. We need to know every aspect to try to make some sort of sense in all that happened. I've watched numerous Manson interviews, and what he says in the movie isn't quite as dramatic as he really is. Meaning, in my opinion, he talks in circles, and you really have to pay attention to figure out what he's saying. In the movie, it wasn't that bad. I guess that's part of the fascination with him. Is he really smart? Is what he's saying make any sense, or do I just not understand? He gets your attention that's for sure. I am in no way, shape, or form belittling what the Manson family members did. I think it was absolutely horrendous! But once again, that is what gets peoples attention, and people thrive on it. Why else would we watch the news?! Nonetheless, this I feel, is a movie that is very good, and worth getting. Very interesting, and very good portrayal on the actor's part.

1969~ the Drug culture and Hippie movement comes into play here~ This movie is from the Manson side of the story~ Charles Manson takes in runaway teenagers and gives them drugs and a place to live at the old Spahn Ranch near LA~ while there they preach 'love' and the 'gospel' but steal and have endless orgies based on the total control Charlies has over his "Family". Soon the Family ruthlessly kills 5 people including Sharon Tate an Pregnant actress in a very bloody gory mass kill~ police are clueless and then 2 more are killed ~ soon Charlie and 4 of his family including 3 women are being on Trial for 7 OF THE bloodiest murders in California history. As the movie moves along we see how Charlie used his total control of his "family" to kill in the hopes the spree will start a race war and his Family soon hiding in the desert will be the ONLY white survivors~ Using the Bible and a Beatles record he is "motivated" to cause "Helter Skelter" to achieve his demented goals. This is easily to follow~ Jeremy Davis is very good as Charles Manson~ but we also see his psychopathic behavior and motives and shocking control he has shows how he was able to plan and carry out the murders~ THIS IS A REMAKE OF THE 1976 MOVIE~ WHICH SHOWS THE PLOT FROM THE LEGAL SIDE~!

I personally FEEL THE 1976 MOVIE WITH THE SAME TITLE IS MUCH BETTER~ BUT THIS VERSION IS VERY GOOD~ ~ BASED on the book by Vincent Bugliosi the DA who convicted Manson in 1970. I GIVE THIS VERSION AN 8 OUT OF 10 FOR GOOD PLOT AND GOOD ACTING.

The movie arrived quickly and in great condition. It played well and was a wonderful remake of the original film. This film is seen more through the eyes of Linda Kasabian and what she witnessed and how it affected her as a member of the "Family". I would definitely reccommend to anybody that this is a great movie to watch. I loved it and I am vry pleased with my purchase.

I bought this dvd , because I've always been intriqued with this moment in history that effected the world .Charles Manson and his family olost souls , sent a disturbing message to America .
To me it says even if you're good to your children , they have mind of their own and they are going to decide what to do .This is a sad commentary on the youth of America . It all stems from the choices that you make in life can predict your fate .

really at first i didn't know what to think but soon it turned into a sadistic horror film, and i must say it is a great one. its worth it to watch it.

The movie was better than the original. Usually it is the other way around. I'm pleased I bought this movie. It was more realistic.

I liked the fact that "Hollywood" thought enough about an occurrence of some forty years ago that they delved into the background of events and attempted to portray updated facts and information now available. If you lived during that time, (myself in my late twenties), you would have a difficult time overcoming your personal emotions about the sensational crime of the era to deal with the occurrence with objectivity.

I like this type of movies.I saw the original when it was first released as a mini series,so I decided to buy this one.Although I didn't like as much as the original it is a very good movie.I would recommend it to anyone who likes thriller or drama.
