Another great performance from Johnie Depp! In tis film he is a detective who has visions. The back guy is actually Jack the Ripper. And this movie tells the tails of the unfortunates that were murdered in london so long ago. To make it cinamatic, of corse, they have an ending unlike that wich really happened (in real life he was never known) and it works very well because, at the same time it blends with what happened in real life. Giving it just the perfect thoery ending.

I love putting this in those nights I can't sleep, and watching it all bundled in covers. I recommend to buy or rent!

What can I say but, wow. A remarkable story of the who & why of Jack the Ripper & his undying thirst to kill & mutilate 5 prostitutes in the streets of London. This portrayal of it kinda starts out fast-paced but is still easy to follow. I like the fact that you get to find out who this particular Jack the Ripper was in this movie instead of being told that he's unknown & disappeared after the brutal murders. With a few great plot twists at the end this was a rather good take on the serial killer's identity. I wanted to add another Johnny Depp movie to my collection so I decided to buy this film on ebay.

Mr. Depp showed not only the intent of the investigation but the distractions used at the time and presently that some detectives will use to gain insight into particularly grizzly situations. The costuming is awesome, the sets are pure magic and so well done. I bought it because I enjoy mystery and Johnny Depp as well.

Great Movie! Johnny Depp is fantastic. The movie is full of suspense and keeps you on your toes. Would recommend anyone interested in Jack the Ripper tales to view this movie.

Love Johnny Depp in most anything and being a big fan of horror movies, this movie is fantastic. Depp & Heather Graham are great. Movie also has an actual plot with suspense, not just a slasher film. A must see for any horror movie fanatic.

i just recently watched this movie and i had to have it. johnny depp does such a good job no matter what movie he's in. this is a great movie to tell the story of jack the ripper.

I didnt really enjoy this movie. It just seemed to go on forever, and didnt really seem to follow the facts about Jack The Ripper. I did like Johhny Depp's performace though. Theres gotta be something better to see than this, but if your a fan of Johnny then see it!

I decided to buy the movie because I studied serial killers in college. I saw From Hell when it was in the theatre. I thought it was a really good movie about Jack the Ripper, a famous serial killer from London that was never caught.

this movie is well made... based off of a graphic novel that is highly researched and is certainly intriguing. the mystique that surrounds the ripper murders is still apparent today. who was he? how many of the murders in that area and time did he commit? who wrote the letters? all of these things are certainly questions that are still being asked today?

i didn't even mind the love story between mary jane kelly and the inspector... or the ending. if you're interested in the ripper cases, look on wikipedia. most of the case files are there for you to peruse, since they are now public domain. and if you're looking for something macabre, most of the crime scene and autopsy photos are available as well.

I had seen this movie a few times and decided to finally buy it. Its a great detective story, though, the love story is kinda nauseating! Jack the Rippers story does get told in this movie and Johnny Depp is excellent as usual!! If you like mvies that are suspenseful and full of Old English lore, this will provide a good dose of it!!

As an avid Johnny Depp fan I have seen most of his movies. This movie shows his talent before it blossomed to what it is today. He plays an eccentric role as per his usual style. The movie's plot is unexpected and entertaining. The movie is also of good filming quality for it's year. It is unlike any I've seen and offers a unique take on Old London and Jack the Ripper. It delves into the Freemason group in a different way and offers speculations as to their true intentions and behavior. However, it is missing Depp's usual banter but his character is great none the less. From hell embraces different genres and pulls them all together to make a solid story. It will give you horror, thrill, love, and history. This movie is not one of Depp's best but it is worth watching.

I have not found anything that Johnny Depp has done that I did not like and it is true about this movie as was. I now have almost every movie he has ever been in.

Great movie - be careful loaning it out - it may not come back! This is the 6th time I've bought the movie.

The plot takes a twist and the ending is unexpected...Johnny Depp is a remarkable actor and does not let the audience down. This movie will keep you watching until the very end....Good ahead and get your popcorn and coke settle down and go on a manhunt for the killer.
