This is an excellent book on all aspects of African violet growing. Under lights, problems and pests, growing in windows, hybridizing, this book has it all. I bought this book because it was the book, from the library, that got me started with African violets 30 years ago. It's an oldie but a goodie and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get started or anyone who wants to improve upon their knowledge of the culture of African violets.

) I have an African Violet that is putting out leaves like crazy but no blooms. I know this book from a friend and saw it on E-bay and thought I needed it my library to help me "fix" this plant. It is a good resourse book for African Violets.

This book covers all aspects of African violet from the basis for beginners to tips for the hard-core African violet shower. It is full of nice color photos. It is written with the love of these plants. I bought a copy back when I was starting to grow the plants that my grandmother loved. The table of contents help find the the information that you need. Even though this book was written such a long time ago. I don't think that the hobby has changed that dramtically. It is true that we have new colors and varieties today but the basics are still true for growing babies from leaves, grooming plants, watering, fertilizing, and enjoying the beautiful of a plant with humble beginning to the superstar that it is today.
