Heaven Help Us (DVD, 2005)

I've been a fan of Patrick Dempsey since the days of "Can't Buy Me Love" and "Loverboy," so I was very happy to come across this oldie-but-a-goodie at such a good price!!

The story is a cute one - it follows 5 boys through the trials and tribulations of Catholic school. Love is found and love is lost. Although Dempsey plays a very small part, I enjoyed the film and it will be one that I will watch over and over again. Happy to add this to my library!!

They tried to film this movie at the HS I went to- no joke! Very entertaining, especially for anyone who went to parochial school.

This is a hard movie to find and I was very grateful to have found it and at a very low price. This is one of my favorite movies from the 80's before most of these stars, like Patrick Dempsey, became famous. It is a must see!!!

I bought this on behalf of my boss, who went to a similar school and remembered this film but couldn't find it. He and his whole family liked it; his generation which knew this film only brushed on what they went through (Being punished at Church/School meant being punished again at home) and their kids, who had no clue about anything like this. My boss was in particular intrigued by the storyline of the abusive Brother who is due for his comeuppance. A vastly under-appreciated film. For 10 bucks w/shipping, a real steal.

I love this movie, its awesome. The music is so nice and the actors well they speak for themselves. Its a must see movie. Its and old movie but its worth it.

Heaven Help Us is a fun movie and not too far from the truth. Back in those years Catholic Schools were very Strict. I went to a Catholic school from 1978 to 1987. Even during that era it was pretty rough, so I can relate very well to this movie. If you are Catholic you will like it and if you went to Catholic school you will love it.

I HEARD STORIES ABOUT CATHOLIC SCHOOLS (from my mom)..but never were they so funny,that i aimost died laughing!!KEVIN DILLON STEALS EVERY SCENE,AND HIS CHARACTER(in this movie)is undoubtbly one of those lessons in life(as what not to be)But a lost comedy classic,and a must see movie to anyone who loves an original!!this one's that!!

I loved this movie, because the acting, plot, and concepts behind this motion picture were amazing!!! During the 1960s, Catholic schools still had many nuns, brothers, and priests that took the law into their own hands. Heaven Help Us helps us to laugh at "old school" customs and appreciate how to survive the thick and thin aspects of everyday life.

Totally satisfied with this movie. Brought back a lot of memories about grade school for me. I heard about the movie from a friend and ordered it and received it right away. Have watched it three times and recommend it to everyone. Thanks!
