Synopsis In a novel marketing spin, ABC has produced a book penned by one of its characters. The funny police procedural show, CASTLE, follows the investigations and antics of an unlikely pair of crime-fighters, saucy novelist Richard Castle and ice-queen police detective Kate Beckett. The two couldn't be more different and they love to hate each other. To tide viewers over during the summer break, ABC released chapters of a book credited to Richard Castle online, publishing the complete HEAT WAVE in print when the season kicked off in September. In Castle's book (the ghost writers are not credited), a sexy NYPD detective named Nikki Heat investigates a bizarre and dangerous murder, while being tailed by a prize-winning author researching the police department for an article.
