In The Heart Of The Rockies by G. A. Henty (2005, Paperback)

I bought this book for my son for Christmas. It is a reprint of a book that was published probably 100 years ago. I have been looking for good books for my children, especially for my son--there seems to be tons of books out there for girls but not so much for boys. I have never read this author before, but I know he wrote over 70 books for young men that cover various historical periods, and that really interested me. I loved reading historical fiction as a child and I hope to instill that love in my kids. I have been reading it to them and while the language is somewhat Victorian and heavy, it is very readable and would be good for kids between 10 and 15 years of age. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for good literature for their children, especially their sons.
