The Heart of the Game

This film goes courtside to present a true-life passionate and inspirational documentary of the Roosevelt Roughriders girls' basketball team during six turbulent seasons.
Bill Resler, a former tax professor now turned hard-driving unorthodox coach, is spotlighted in his attempts to turn his team around. The star of the team is an inner-city tough girl whose battles off the court threatens her eligibility to play. The rest of the team is full of drive, toughness, and the unabridged desire to make history.
This is an exciting film that will grab and retain your interest if you like drama, sports, or just plain old good acting. I rated the film as "good" but it verged upon excellence for me. See it for your self and draw your own conclusions, but one thing is sure...you will remember this film and think of it often.
